Palestinian prisoner Baker Daraghmeh enters 21st year behind israeli bars

West Bank (The Inside Palestine) – 41-year-old Palestinian detainee Baker Daraghma from Tubas city on Monday entered his 21st year in Israeli occupation jails.

Commission of Detainees’ Affairs said that detainee Daraghma had been seriously injured by Israeli occupation forces six months before he was detained.

The commission pointed out that Daraghma was exposed to interrogation lasted for several months, and was sentenced to 22 years in prison.

In 2003, Israeli occupation forces killed Daraghma’s sister Hiba, demolished his family house, and detained his brothers. He is held in Negev prison.

According to Palestinian figures, about 4,500 Palestinians, including 32 women and 160 children, are currently languishing in Israeli detention jails.

Among them, close to 530 Palestinians are currently being held under “Israel’s” illegal policy of administrative detention without charge or trial.
