NGO: ‘Israel’ arrested 47 Palestinian minors, 15 women last month

West Bank (The Inside Palestine)- A Palestinian NGO stressed that the Israeli occupation army has intensified its detention campaigns against Palestinians over the past month.

According to the Palestinian Prisoners Centre for Studies, Israeli occupation forces detained last month 500 Palestinians, including 47 children and 15 women.

In its monthly report, the center explained that the Israeli occupation launched a series of massive detention campaigns against Palestinians, particularly in occupied Jerusalem, in a bid to deter them from defending the Al-Aqsa Mosque against Israeli settlers’ incursions.

Israeli occupation forces also detained more than 320 Palestinian Jerusalemites while attacking the funeral of slain Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh.

In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli occupation military detained 14 Palestinians, including 10 fishermen, eight of whom were arrested in one incident off the Mediterranean coast of Gaza, and four detained after crossing the border fence in the south and north of the besieged enclave.

The center documented 47 arrest cases of Palestinian minors by the Israeli occupation forces, the youngest of whom is 10-year-old Nour al-Hajj Mohammed from the West Bank village of Al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah.
