Later in the evening, Israeli forces shot and killed 16-year-old Palestinian Qusay Hamamra in the Bethlehem-area village of Husan. Confrontations had erupted near the main entrance to the town after Israeli forces sealed the entrance and exits to the village.
Reports said that Israeli forces prevented medical crews from reaching Hamamra, causing him to bleed out. Israeli forces temporarily detained his body before returning it to his family. Hamamra is the seventh Palestinian minor killed by Israel since the start of the year.
Israeli media reported that Palestinians from the village set the car of an Israeli settler on fire after he entered the village. The settler was unharmed.
Tensions in Husan have been high since Sunday, when Israeli forces shot and killed 44-year-old Ghada Sabateen near a flying checkpoint in the village. Sabateen, a widow and mother of six, who reportedly had a visual impairment, was unarmed when she was shot.
Also on Wednesday night, Israeli forces raided the village of Silwad in northern Ramallah and violently arrested three of the village’s residents, sparking confrontations with Palestinian youth. Videos showed youth throwing stones and Molotov cocktails at armored Israeli jeeps.
Israeli forces suppressed the youth with live ammunition, injuring 11 and killing one, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The deceased was identified as 20-year-old Omar Elayan.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, Israeli forces killed two more Palestinians in the Jenin area during raids on the towns of Kafr Dan and al-Yamun. During the raids, Israeli forces arrested four Palestinians, including three brothers of Ayham Kamamji, one of the prisoners who escaped from the Gilboa prison last year, Wafa News Agency reported.
Another one of Kamaji’s brothers was one of the Palestinians who was killed. He was identified as Shas Kamamji. The second Palestinian who was killed was identified as Mustafa Abu Rub. Their ages remained unknown.
On Thursday afternoon, reports from the Ministry of Health said that a sixth Palestinian was killed in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, after succumbing to their wounds sustained on Wednesday. Their identity remained unknown.
