Hebron (The Inside Palestine)- Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and Israeli settlers assaulted on Wednesday evening Palestinian citizens as they were taking part in an event to plant olive trees in lands threatened with confiscation in Masafer Yatta in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.
According to local sources, Israeli occupation soldiers and a large group of Israeli settlers from the illegal settlement of “Susya” attacked the precipitants as they were planting olive trees in the lands of Wadi al-Rakhim area, which is threatened with confiscation.
The Israeli settlers violently beat up the participants and hurled racial slurs at them.
On 4 May, the Israeli occupation supreme court turned down a petition filed by the residents of 12 Palestinian communities in Masafer Yatta against the Israeli occupation army’s decision to declare the area as a “firing zone”, which would pave the way for demolishing the communities and displacing around 4,000 Palestinians.
