German arrests pro-Palestine activists demonstrating against Israeli occupation

Berlin (The Inside Palestine)- German police announced the arrest of several people following a pro-Palestine demonstration in the German capital, Berlin.

The police claimed that several demonstrators chanted “anti-Semitic” slogans during the demonstration in Berlin’s Kreuzberg and Neukölln districts on Saturday evening.

On her account, German Interior Minister Nancy Wieser has stated, on Sunday, that “anti-Semitism has no place in Germany,” adding that “the rule of law must take firm action against it.”

“No matter where or who they come from, we should not become accustomed to anti-Semitic offenses,” Wieser added.

Meanwhile, Israeli media reported that the President of Germany’s Bundestag, Baerbel Bas, will attend Knesset events to mark “Holocaust Remembrance Day” later this week.

Knesset Speaker Mickey Levy added that “this is another important expression of the special relationship between Israel and Germany and of the historical responsibility for the crimes of the Holocaust that Germany has taken on itself.”

It is worth mentioning that countries from all around the world are showing their support for Palestine against the brutality of the Israeli occupation, as the IOF continue to assault the rights of the Palestinian people.
