West Bank (The Inside Palestine)- Scores of Palestinian citizens and activists on Saturday suffered heavy tear gas inhalation as Israeli occupation forces violently suppressed a sit-in held to protest forced displacement and illegal settlement expansion in Masafer Yatta in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.
According to local sources, Israeli occupation soldiers heavily fired tear gas at the demonstrators in the area of al-Rakeez in Masafer Yatta and beat up some of them.
The protest was attended by dozens of local residents and activists from the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948.
An Israeli occupation court declared Masafer Yatta as a “firing and military training zone” in a move aimed at forcefully evicting more than 14 Palestinian villages and communities in the area.
