Palestine.7, May, 2020 (QNN)- A group of Palestinian activists in the blockaded Gaza Strip has been organizing small-scale video chats on Zoom, the newly popular teleconferencing platform, with Miko Peled, an American human rights activists.
Miko Peled is considered by many to be one of the clearest voices calling for justice in Palestine and support of the Palestinian call for Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS). He talked about the Israeli occupation’s violations against Palestinians, the Israeli violations of International laws, and the right of Palestinians to defend themselves and their right of return.
Miko condemned the Israeli occupation government for its actions to enforce severe and discriminatory restrictions on Palestinians’ human rights; restrict the movement of people and goods into and out of the Gaza Strip; and facilitate the unlawful transfer of Israeli settlers to settlements in the occupied West Bank.
He also condemned ” Israel” for its crimes against Palestinians peaceful demonstrators on the Great Return March. Israeli occupation forces stationed on the Palestinian occupied side of the fences separating Gaza and Israeli snipers responded to demonstrations for Palestinian rights on the Gaza side with excessive lethal force. Israeli snipers murdered Palestinian demonstrators, including children and medical workers, and wounded them with live fire.
At the end of the online meeting, Miko assured that the world needs to hear the narrative and the voice of Palestine and Palestinians. He also showed his solidarity with the people of the Gaza strip and asked the world to end the Israeli blockade on Gaza.
