The occupation state arrested over 600 Palestinians during daily raids into Jerusalem this year

The Palestinian Prisoners’ Association stated that the occupation state arrested over 600 Palestinians during daily raids into the occupied capital city this year.

The association added that although of the global concerns regarding the novel coronavirus outbreak, the Israeli authorities continued its daily arrests and targeting of native Palestinians in Jerusalem.

It noted that the Israeli forces arrested today 13 Palestinians from Jerusalem, including the Secretary-General of the National People’s Congress in Jerusalem, Bilal Natsheh, and the director of his office. Muath Ashahb, in addition to General Imad Awad.

The Israelis also arrested today the writer and human rights activist Rania Hatem, Mustafa Abu Zahra, Jadallah Ghoul, and the journalist Tamer Obeidat.

The association confirmed that the Israeli arrests iN Jerusalem are the most in comparison to arrests in other cities.

It also warned of the Israeli targeting to PA officials and human rights activists, which would undermine the Palestinian official presence in the city.

The Israeli police on Tuesday announced that it arrested seven Palestinian activists under the pretext of carrying out “activities against the Israeli law that prevents any activity of the Palestinian Authority in Jerusalem.”
