IOF detain Palestinian man in Jerusalem, abuse child during his interrogation

Jerusalem(The inside Palestine)- The Israeli occupation forces arrested, this evening, Wednesday, a young man from the town of Issawiya, north of Jerusalem.

Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces arrested the 29-year-old young man, Ahmed Ghaleb Abu Subeih, after storming and searching his house.

Meanwhile, the Prisoners and Executives Affairs Authority said today, Wednesday that the Israeli occupation forces abused the child Nour al-Din Nasri Ubaid (17 years) from the town of Issawiya in the occupied city of Jerusalem during his arrest and interrogation.

The child Obaid explained to the HTS lawyer the details of his abuse, saying that he was arrested during the confrontations that erupted in his town when members of the Israeli occupation forces attacked him, and they beat him arbitrarily with their hands and feet and with the weapons they were carrying.

This led to the child being wounded in his leg, bruises, and he could not stand the moment of the severity of the beating, as the soldiers dragged him on the ground, and pushed him into the military jeep, and they continued to beat him mercilessly while he was inside the jeep.

Ebeid added that he was then taken to the Abu Ghneim police station, south of occupied Jerusalem, for interrogation, and there he was interrogated for an hour, while he was handcuffed and footed, and during the interrogation, they denied him entry to the bathroom, and then they transferred him to the “Maskobeya” cells.

He added that the conditions in the “Maskobiyya” cells are tragic. The rooms inside the section are dirty, the blankets provided by the prison administration for the prisoners are dirty, full of germs and insects, and cause skin allergies, and the meals provided are of poor quality.

He added that the guards’ treatment of prisoners is very bad, as they assault them and beat them, with false pretenses and pretexts, and stayed in the Moskobiyya cells for 12 days, and later they were transferred to the Israeli “Ofek” prison, knowing that this prison is intended for the detention of Israeli criminal prisoners and not Palestinian prisoners.

He pointed out that during his stay in “Ofek” prison, he was also not spared from beatings and insults from the guards, as he asked to contact his family, but they refused, punished him, and severely beat him, and deliberately tied his hands to the pillar of the bed for long hours, and deprived him of food, drink, and entry to the bathroom, he stayed for 10 days in “Ofek” prison, after that he was transferred to “Damoun” detention center.

It is noteworthy that the child Obaid has been detained since 12/23/2020, and is still being held until now, and is currently being dispatched to Section (4), which is devoted to young children, in “Damoun” detention center.
