2 Palestinian fishermen injured in Israeli gunboat shooting

Gaza(The inside Palestine)- Israeli navy gunboats fired at Palestinian fishermen while fishing off the northern Gaza Strip shores on Friday and wounded two of them.

The fishermen committee identified the two fishermen as Adham Abu Qassem and Mohammed al-Awoor, adding that they were wounded to the west of Beit Lahia and were taken to hospital for treatment.

It said that the Israeli gunboats opened heavy machinegun fire at the fishing boats causing the injuries and severely damaging the fishing boats.

The Israeli gunboats regularly target Palestinian fishing boats, shooting live bullets and opening water cannons at them. Fishermen are sometimes also detained.
