Israeli occupation army to raze home, displace family in southern Bethlehem

The Israeli occupation army on Friday notified a Palestinian family of its intent to demolish their home and displace them in al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem.

Local official Hasan Bureijia said that Sameeh Ahmed and his family received a written military ultimatum ordering them to evacuate their house in Khirbet Aliya area of the town within 96 hours as a prelude to demolishing it.

According to Bureijia, the Israeli army had destroyed the family’s house and displaced them several times before at the pretext of unlicensed construction.

The areas of Khirbet Aliya and Umm Rukba have been exposed since the early 1980s to a ferocious demolition campaign aimed at forcing the local residents to leave their homes in order to expand the boundaries of the illegal Jewish settlement of Efrat.
