6 Palestinian detainees on hunger strike in Israeli jails

Six Palestinian prisoners have been on open hunger strike for different periods in Israeli prisons in protest at their detention administratively without charge or trial.

The hunger strikers are Ahmad Ghannam,42, Sultan Khalouf, 38, Naser al-Jada’, 31, Ismail Ali, 30, Tareq Qa’dan, 46, and Thaer Hamdan, 30, and they have been on hunger strike for 56, 52, 32, 46, 39 and 27 days respectively.

According to the Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission, some of the hunger striking prisoners are being held at prison hospitals and clinics after their health conditions have worsened.
