Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Saturday injured a Palestinian child and arrested another during confrontations in the West Bank city of al-Khalil.
Local sources said that violent clashes flared up between the IOF and Palestinian youths in Bab al-Zawiya, in the middle area of the city, in which a child was injured by a rubber-coated metal bullet.
A number of Palestinian youths choked on tear gas and were treated in the field.
The same sources reported that another child was detained by the IOF and transferred to an undeclared destination.
West Bank tensions have hit a boiling point recently as the Palestinians are protesting Israel’s planned annexation of large areas there.
