Fierce clashes flared up on Monday evening between Palestinian citizens and Israeli settlers after the latter attacked Palestinian houses in Burin village in Nablus district, north of the West Bank.
Local sources said that a group of Palestinian youths rushed to defend the targeted homes and managed to fend off the attack, which sparked clashes with the settlers.
Israeli occupation forces provided protection to the settlers as they withdrew, heavily firing tear gas grenades at the Palestinian residents of Burin.
A number of citizens choked on tear gas and were treated in the field, local sources reported.
Israeli settler violence against Palestinians and their property is witnessed on a regular basis in Burin and other villages in southern Nablus.
