Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Prisoners’ Club said on Thursday that the occupation state is holding 15 journalists in its jails, the oldest of them is Mahmoud Issa, who has been in jail since 1993 and was sentenced to three life imprisonments and 46 years.
The NGO added that Israeli authorities have escalated its assaults against journalists this year, targeting them with arrests, shootings, and attacks.
The 15 jailed journalists include Mais Aby Ghoush, who has been subjected to severe torture for a whole month at Maskubiyyeh interrogation center, and Bushra Taweel, who has been in administrative detention for nearly three months so far.
The statement confirmed that a court hearing was held on Thursday for the journalist Yazan Abu Salah. Meanwhile, hearings will be held for other four journalists, who are Sameh Titi, Mais Abu Ghoush, Mustafa Sokhol, and Qassam Barghouthi.
The journalist Qassam Barghouthi was subjected to severe torture. His family revealed that Shin Bet members were sticking legs of a metal chair into his open wounds during interrogation sessions.
