MP Jamal al-Khudari, head of the Popular Committee Against the Siege, has strongly denounced the Israeli occupation authority for preventing German lawmaker Achim Kessler from visiting the Gaza Strip.
Khudari said that that Kessler’s visit was aimed at checking on Germany-funded institutions as part of efforts to promote development cooperation and improve water and health services in Gaza.
The Palestinian lawmaker accused the Israeli occupation state of persisting in blocking foreign parliamentary delegations from visiting Gaza, which “has been under tight blockade for 13 years.”
“The occupation continues to isolate Gaza from the world, conceal the reality of the deteriorating humanitarian situation and obstruct international support for vital projects,” the lawmaker affirmed.
He also said that the Israeli occupation wants to prevent international parliamentarians from supporting the Palestinian cause and defending the Palestinian people against Israeli violations.
Khudari expressed his thanks to the German lawmaker for his attempt and desire to visit Gaza and urged him to convey the picture of the Israeli blockade on the population.
