Palestinians protest in West Bank for demolishing their homes

Occupied Jerusalem- The Inside Palestine- Confrontations erupted on Friday evening between Palestinians and the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in various areas of the occupied West Bank.

In al-Khalil, clashes broke out between Palestinian young men and IOF in the Bab Al-Zawiya area, in the center of the city. IOF fired teargas canisters, stun grenades, and rubber-coated metal bullets at the Palestinian youths.

At the northern entrance to Qalqilya city, clashes erupted between Palestinian youths and IOF which pursued the young men and fired sound and gas bombs at the citizens’ homes during the chase.

Local sources reported that three Palestinians were injured by metal bullets and dozens of people suffered breathing problems during IOF quelling of a march in Kafr Qaddum, in Qalqilya.

The participants chanted patriotic slogans calling for the escalation of popular resistance.

The village recently witnessed escalation in IOF raids, which was represented by frequent night raids and ambushes in deserted houses with the aim of suppressing the weekly march but the citizens insist on maintaining the weekly event until the achievement of its goals.

Several Palestinian citizens suffered breathing difficulties on Friday afternoon during confrontations with IOF soldiers who attacked a march condemning settlement in Beit Dajan village, east of Nablus.

The confrontations erupted after the IOF’s quelling of the weekly march of Beit Dajan town that is organized to protest the settlement projects built on citizens’ lands.

The Jewish settlers re-erected tents and sheep pens in the lands of Beit Dajan and started to level land and construct a road to the northeast of the village from the outskirts of the Hamra settlement.

Settlers recently established an agricultural settlement outpost on the lands of the town which consisted of five caravans and a sheep pen.

Palestinian activists monitoring settlement activity said that settlers extended water lines to supply the new outpost with water from the Alon Moriah settlement near the village. Furthermore, they built a road of several kilometers which led to the confiscation of hundreds of dunums of Palestinian lands.

Abd al-Rahman Hanini, head of Beit Dajan village council, had previously warned that these Israeli activities are not coincidental. “There is a real annexation of thousands of dunums belonging to the town to the existing settlements or that might be established in the coming period”, he added.
